The tiny alley behind the restaurant smelled horrible. The air was thick and mouldy, saturated with the stenches of countless long decayed dishes that had once been of great quality, with breathtaking odours. Their odours were still breathtaking. But in a bad way. In the shit-this-stinks-so-much-I-can-barely-breathe way.

Nora Anderson experienced this the hard way when she stepped through the backdoor in the kitchen. Right into the garbage. It was winter and freezing, yet the air in the alley was so thick with stink that it seemed to be cooking. The young woman looked up and stared at the small clouds that came from her mouth.  The madness of the king would soon pass. With each second he grew weaker, his graying hair becoming duller. His kingdom waited with baited breath for his passing, but it seemed as if it would never come. His ageing maid sat by his bedside with the absence of his wife. His servants prayed for him, he had treated them well throughout the long years of their service. 
The king shuddered in his sleep with every night that passed. He spoke aloud of things he believed he had seen in battles of years past to anyone and everyone, whether they listened or not. The kingdoms doctors and mystic healers came from all four corners, shaking their heads at his confusion, each unable to help him. The kingdom came to understand that there was nothing they could do for their once proud leader. 
  One doctor sat with him the longest, marveling in the air of calm insanity that seeped from his roy'Wolves' by ~miayan

An intense sparring match was in progress in the nearly empty dojo not far from Worchester Public High School. It was a fight between two friends, though far more than simply a friendly match. The two fighters moved swiftly, obviously going at each other with two very different styles. One of them was traditional karate, the other a mix of Kempo and Judo with a bit of street fighting thrown in.

   “I haven’t seen half of these attacks!” Heather complained. “I doubt anyone has.”
