Dear members of fantasyart-fi, I can gladly announce it's time for the first mini-contest. :)

Mini-contest: draw your dreams

Deadline: January 26th (so you'll have three weeks to work on your entry)

Rules

  • The idea of this mini-contest is drawing something you've dreamt of recently (or longer ago, if you like).
  • If you want to join, please favourite this journal.
  • Traditional art or digital art are both fine, and a background isn't necessary (since it's a mini-contest), but it would be nice of course. ;)

The prize will be a feature in the group.

Let's share our dreams in this first mini-contest. ^^

Whoa. o.O I didn't think of that, but it actually does make sense. One would need to create better artwork than the others.

Your way of thinking is very nice. When one focuses on what she can do, you won't waste time thinking how good should you be. And you'll improve.

Yes im pretty sure that is what a lot of people could be doing... i see it happen in a lot of contests i've entered... of course some people also need the time because they do really elaborate things.
I felt my dream could be a little rough and hazy... given it was a dream and all.

Some people may need all the time given. There are 18 people who favourited this journal, so I expect them all to submit an entry (or at least try to). There has been a reminder now, so I hope nobody has forgotten about it.

I just thought up another question, is it alright if the piece is rather sci fi oriented or would it be preferable to stay closer to fantasy or animal themed?
also does the dream have to have fantasy animals in it or can the subject matter be animals that are real but doing something the real animals aren't able to?

Both are okay. ;)
It's allright if it's a bit sci fi oriented, and animals doing things they normally can't do is something I'd consider fantasy-ish.
